Paul holding positive thought sign

Why should you choose me for hypnotherapy?

Let me give you some examples of what makes me different and why I’m a good choice.

I’m a normal bloke

My name isn’t Xavier Darkstorm – it’s Paul.

I don’t ride around on a broomstick – I have a Ford Fiesta.

I’m a down to earth man who understand the mind, hypnosis and gets the job done without making up claims about mystical powers.

That doesn’t mean your sessions won’t be magical, there’s always room for a little mystery…

I will prove you are in hypnosis

Before I became a hypnotist I did something a bit naughty.

I visited several hypnotists to see how they worked and what I thought of their services. I did this because I wanted to see what it was like to be a client and what I could learn from the experience.

Apart from one of the meetings, I left having no idea whether or not I had been hypnotised! I’d laid down and shut my eyes but…had anything happened?

I emailed several hypnotists asking if they could demonstrate things I’d seen on TV shows like making my hand become stuck to a wall or be making it so I’d be unable to open my eyes.

All except one replied saying they don’t do things like that.

This will not happen on our meetings because I’ll prove you are in a state of hypnosis.

How I’ll show you hypnosis is real

We call this a convincer; something that convinces the client that hypnosis is real and working.

We can do any of the following:

  • Have your eyelids stuck together so you can’t open them
  • Have your hands glued together so you can’t separate them
  • Forget your own name
  • Forget how to count to 10
  • I’ll make myself invisible to you
  • I can make you see a sheep walking around the room

It’s very important to me that you KNOW you experienced hypnosis. I don’t want anyone leaving a session with me with the doubts in their head that I had when I tried it.

None of these things will scare or alarm you, they’re actually fun to experience. I just want to prove that this is all real and you’re not just sitting their with your eyes closed.

Not only do these things convince you but they also help me by showing you are indeed in hypnosis.

Fast hypnosis

The methods I use can get you into hypnosis in under 5 minutes, even on your first session.

Before I became a hypnotherapist I went around undercover testing hypnotists to see how they operated.

One of the most disappointing things I found was the number that insisted on older methods of hypnosis such as only using progressive relaxation inductions. While there’s nothing wrong with them, they’re very slow.

It can take 20 to 30 minutes to go into “trance”. It’s not really a trance but I call it that because that’s how people think of it.

I asked if we could do rapid inductions or instant inductions and they said no.

Imagine you’re at the train station and need to get to work quickly. You have two trains to choose from, which will you choose?

  • Train 1 will take 5 minutes to get there and stops very close to where you work
  • Train 2 will take 20 minutes and stops a 10 minute walk away

There’s just no reason to choose the slow train. It’d be great if you were enjoying a day out and weren’t in a rush but if you want to get things done then you’d always choose train 1.

Don’t get me wrong, slow inductions have their place and I do love the romance and style of the old ways but a lot of people just want to get things done without spending 20 minutes walking down imaginary staircases.

You can find out more about how we put people into hypnosis quickly on my page on hypnotic induction.

Filmed hypnotherapy sessions

If you want to have your sessions filmed in high quality video then you can. Any filmed sessions are FREE so long as I can use them on my YouTube channel.

This is yet another way I convince people of the power of hypnosis. You won’t believe what you see as you watch yourself back.

I’m new and full of enthusiasm

I trained in hypnotherapy in 2019 so I’m new to this.

I understand that some of you may want someone more experienced. If that’s the case then contact me and I’ll be happy to point you in the direction of some great hypnotherapists.

Being new means that I’m full of enthusiasm though. I’m not jaded by spending years repeating the same thing over and over. I had become like that in my old job so I know what it’s like!

When I stop someone smoking or help them overcome a phobia then I feel like “Wow! I did it!”.

In my previous job of training driving instructors I found that many people relied on years of experience to hide their incompetence. I found the new ones were keen and had the latest methods and ideas. Instructors with 30 years experience were often out of date and relied on past glory to prove their worth.

Just because you’ve been doing something for a long time doesn’t mean you’re any good at it.

I trained to be a hypnotist

Anyone can call themselves a hypnotherapist without any training at all.

Yes, you can just watch some YouTube videos or read a couple of books then go and set up in business hypnotising people.

I wanted to do it properly so I trained at a college with some great teachers who have years of good experience and know what they’re talking about.

As you read this I’m currently finishing my qualification but after that I plan to go on and do even more.

Be careful when choosing a hypnotherapist because some may have no qualifications at all.

Make sure they’re listed on a site like the NCH (National Council for Hypnotherapy) or the (GHSC) General Hypnotherapy Standards Council.
